I have not been posting things as regularly as I would like to on this blog, and there are two reasons for this. One is that I am so busy living my life right now that it is hard to take time to write about it. The other is that I have made a commitment to spend less time working and more time doing other things, which interestingly enough, is allowing me to actually get more done in some areas.
Anyway, here are some highlights of the last few weeks.
I love spending time outside, especially in the summer months when it is hot (you al know how I love the heat!). I’ve been reading a ton of great books lately (reviews and recommendations to follow in another entry) but here are a couple of my favorite spots in my yard at home for reading.
One of our yoga students, Tyrone Russell, taught his last class before heading off to do an internship in Connecticut, after which he’ll be moving to New Zealand. We had a fun good-bye party for him with (vegan, of course) treats made by Del. We also discovered this great new treat – mimosas in a bottle. I bought some at my favorite spot at the lake, Rudders, and we are all hooked!
Right after Tyrone’s party, I took off for Florida to speak at a conference at which we previewed Forks Over Knives. Of course, everyone loved it. The Disney Coronado Resort was a beautiful place to stay, and it was HOT in Florida in June!
I love spending time at my Port Clinton house, and sharing life at the lake with friends. Del was able to come to the lake for the July 4th holiday, and we had a great time! We have been friends for so long we are like an old married couple; in fact one young girl we ran into asked how long we had been together and she was really disappointed when we told her we were just good friends! Here’s Del enjoying the famous “mimosa in a bottle” we discovered.
We took the ferry to Kelly’s Island for dinner. It’s a beautiful ride on a sunny day. Here we are at a great restaurant on the island, where we ate some fabulous vegan food.
